Are The Debt Management Forums Online Any Good?So what did I find when looking for debt management forums online? I'm sorry to say that I didn't find much of use, in either a general or specific nature. That's a shame because as with every major subject, I bet there are some really experienced people out there willing to help and assist others in need. Having done some major search engine surfing to try and find worthwhile forums when researching this page, I didn't find much of note. The best forums seem to have been locked so that no new posts can be made. I don't know if that means that people in debt argue a lot and need to be separated ;-) or that there is some other reason. Whatever. I found a UK based forum, called debthelpuk.co.uk. I planned to offer some contributions there myself but my approach wasn't appreciated so I left, tail between legs. It appears that the current thinking is that for even relatively small debts, bankruptcy is a better ( = easier ) solution than trying to repay any of them. I am just sooo old fashioned in my thinking! What I can say is this ... if you are looking for some guidance online, there don't seem to be many debt management forums of note for you to use. The debt forum on about.com is pretty helpful I'd say, and very well operated. It is very biased towards the US, but I felt that the posts and responses were very helpful and responsible. It gets a big 'thumbs up' from me. Having said that, since I have written this page, the search engines might have changed their algorithms and now rank different pages highly, new forums might have been started or any one of a number of things may have made the results you find a little better than mine. If you do get good results, good luck to you. I guess that is actually an opportunity for me to start my own on this site ...
